Dear Roosevelt Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Break. It's hard to believe half the year is gone!
Grade cards for Quarter 2/First Semester will come home in Monday Folders January 13 along with the monthly newsletter. Please review and discuss your child's report card with them to praise their effort and accomplishment or identify areas where they may need to improve. We will be monitoring and doing focused work with them at school based on multiple informal and formal assessments. Still, many children will need additional help and practice at home to reach the standards set by our school, district and state. I ask you to join us as part of your child's educational team. Research shows when parents are involved in children's schools and education, results often include higher grades and standardized test scores, improved behavior at home and school, and better social skills. Our dedicated teachers will continue to focus on specific learning needs and improving academic achievement for all students. We want all of our students to score Proficient or Advanced on the Spring 2014 OCCTs. We are here for the kids! Our mission is to ensure all students are college, career and citizen ready.
Please feel free to contact me with your ideas. The Miami Public Schools website www.miami.k12.ok.us also provides important information and updates. Communication between you, your child's teacher and school, is critical to their success!
