Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you to all our parents who attended Parent/Teacher Conferences. I hope everyone enjoyed Fall Break with their families. The First Quarter of the school year flew by. Gradecards will be sent home Monday, Oct. 27. This is also the date for our Fall Carnival. Please plan to join us for games, food, and fun! Oct. 27-31 is also Red Ribbon Week.
Oct. 31 classroom Fall Parties will start at 2:00pm. Students need to wear their costumes to school that day, we will not be changing during the day. We are still collecting the one-time PTO fee of $5.00 per family to provide every class with treats for our school-wide parties/celebrations and help with other student activities. The school will provide nachos for the Fall parties, we appreciate any additional items parents may send for their child's class. We appreciate your support of this fund.
Our dedicated teachers will continue to focus on specific learning needs and improving academic achievement of all students . We are here for the kids! I ask you to join us as part of your child's educational team. Research shows when parents are involved in children's schools and education, results often include higher grades and standardized test scores, improved behavior at home and school, and better social skills. Our mission is to ensure all students are college, career and citizen ready.
I am honored to be a part of your child's education and Miami Public Schools. Please feel free to contact me with your ideas. The Miami Public Schools website
also provides important information and updates. Communication between you, your child's teacher and school, is critical to their success!
Best wishes for a GREAT School Year,
Melissa Bekemeier- Principal
