Dear Nichols Elementary Parents and Guardians:

Welcome back to the 2011-2012 school year.  We are hoping you have had a wonderful summer break and share our enthusiasm as we start our journey together for a rewarding and successful year of learning.  We have revamped the Accelerated Reading Program for this year and plan to continue the swimming party for students with perfect attendance and no tardies each nine week period.  We will continue to have tutoring for students in morning and afternoon that is skill specific and individualized.  We met many academic goals last year and plan to continue to meet and exceed many this school year.

As we begin this school year, we welcome a few new members to our wonderful Nichols staff.  Mrs. Holly Dodge will be teaching second grade and Mrs. Leslie Barton will be providing music instruction for all of our students.  Mrs. Casey Machado will be with us part time as our counselor.  We have a new kitchen manager, Kim Guthrie, and a whole new kitchen staff.  We welcome our new team members and look forward to working together.

We want to encourage everyone to be involved with the events during the year and appreciate the support that is crucial for success of our school and our students.  Please feel free to contact the office if you have questions or concerns.  We look forward to the many successes of this upcoming school year!
